I was in and out in about an hour and a half, received a reduced traffic ticket and an extention of time to pay my fines and fees. While treatment by the judge certainly wasn't friendly, it was at least mildly professional. That being said, it is a courthouse where a good time is hard to find.
Most of the judges seem to be plagued by a frightening superiority complex that seethes into their professional duties. I marvel at the fact that they are so apt to condemn and proselytize when sentencing a defendant, addressing an attorney or even urging a family member of a legal party to sit up appropriately or refrain from outbursts. Judges in this facility have marred the reputation of what was once a fairly respectable and prestigious district court, regularly lauded by the community it served for espousing the ideals of dignity, fairness and justice. Today, it resembles a side-show quite akin to something conjured up by a drunken literary author whose glory years are behind him and who delights in manifesting fragmented and broken worlds that bear striking resemblance to the catastrophe that comprises his mind.
This court is probably the worst I've ever been to in my entire life. My judge was 2 hours late so everyone had to sit in the lobby. Today I go and get sentenced and I hope my judge is in a good mood cuz usually she's not.

Everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Very friendly and courteous . If to dumb not to know that can't take a phone in that's on you. Most courts don't allow. But some people are to dumb to understand the signs clearly. Thank you for your service to the wonderful deputies
It takes 6 useless cops to guard the entrance. Can't take your cellphone in because....no idea. Probably because they don't want you recording evidence which proves they are all shady. If you try to take your phone in, the power abusing woman in front will say "didn't you see the 4 signs on the way up?". I can see why people complain about them abusing power. Then again, that's what most cops do anyway.
Wow! Sounds like incredible introspection by this author.
Any defense attorney with even half of a functioning neuron cell abhors appearing here, and a defendant who has to appear before some of these judges is arguably better off just committing a felony so they could be forced to appear in Oakland County's 6th Circuit Court instead. While a felony charge merits a harsher sentence and a likely state prison stay, at least the defendant will be spared a cacophony of degradation and a barrage of humiliation that they are sure to receive from a few of the warped and insecure judges who operate from this district court. My heart goes out to the formidable employees of the facility (namely, the police officers) who are often vilified merely through virtue of being associated with this frustratingly impertinent court. As for the clerical staff, many of them seem to have likewise consumed the same tainted water that is presumably the culprit to blame for the unfathomably distasteful conduct of some of the judges. Certainly, no other explanation for such loathsome behavior is plausible.
Some of the judges here seem to be endowed with an unrivaled propensity for humiliating the individuals who appear before them. Unfortunately, the judges conduct themselves reprehensibly and utilize their position to scathingly condemn not just the defendants, but often anyone who is in the courtroom. One need only observe the court proceedings for an hour's time to gain chilling insight into the detestable and disrespectful way that some of the judges here address those before them. Their reputations are so deplorable that they have even received some media coverage and are quite well-known among locals.
